Arm lift or Brachioplasty, tightens the skin and muscles in the arms by removing excess skin and adipose tissue that is sagging downward with age, weight gain, or excessive weight loss. Liposuction may be added to the operation.
Arm lift -Brachioplasty- surgery
Arm lift surgery can be performed on any patient with sagging in the arm, including normal-weight patients. Liposuction is also performed on patients who are overweight and have an excess of adipose tissue.
VASER may be effective if there is no excess skin and may be sufficient to achieve the desired results. However, it is crucial to remove skin in patients with excessive skin and weaker supportive tissue.
Avoiding smoking before surgery reduces the risk of complications and improves scar healing. The surgery takes about 3 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.
After the operation, a special arm corset is recommended for the first month. Usual activity could be resumed on average 7-10 days later. It is recommended to avoid excessive arm movements for the first month.
